  1. Boston, MA. February 11, 1992 -- DAVID Systems Incorporated (DSI) and dTech
  2. Incorporated of Tulsa, Oklahoma, today announced an agreement to develop a
  3. family of products to support and enhance DSI's market leading SNMP
  4. ExpressView network management software. The companies will co-develop
  5. additional products to enhance network management and significantly reduce
  6. network downtime.

  8. The initial offering will be ExpressView Companion, a facilities
  9. management, inventory and debugging package, developed by dTech and sold
  10. by DSI. ExpessView Companion will exchange information with DSI's
  11. ExpressView SNMP-based Network Management Software, Novell's Lantern, and
  12. SynOptics' network management products. Using technology drawn from
  13. dTech's Heaven Nodes product, ExpressView Companion will run under Windows
  14. 3.x. ExpressView also runs under Windows, making integration of the
  15. products easy using DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) techniques.

  17. Pricing for ExpressView Companion is $1495, licensed per server, with
  18. initial shipments in 2nd Quarter 1992

  28. Capabilities of ExpressView Companion include

  30. * Automatic collection of workstation hardware and software information in
  31. a non-invasive manner over a variety of network operating systems --
  32. Novell Netware, LAN Manager, Banyan VINES, and NETBIOS LANs;
  33.  
  34. * Automatic monitoring of workstation configuration changes with full
  35. reporting and querying capabilities for IBM PCs and compatibles, with
  36. Macintosh capabilities to be released in 3rd Quarter of this year;

  38. * Complete TCP/IP Net and Subnet address management and maintenance;
  39.  
  40. * UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) Monitoring;
  41.  
  42. * Maintenance and management of wiring and cabling information
